The Sunken Lake Camp is a rustic camp, available for rental by youth groups and other interested parties. Facilities include the main lodge (electricity, wood heater, fridge, gas stove, running water, tables & chairs, outfitted kitchen) and three cabins (each cabin has bunks for 8).
The camp is operated by the Wolfville Boy Scout Association, and has been used by Scouting and other youth groups in Annapolis Valley, NS, for over 70 years.
The camp is conveniently located within a 15 minute drive of Wolfville and New Minas, on the South Mountain of the Annapolis Valley. See a map for approximate location.
Several day hikes can be made from various points around the lake. Yahoo maps currently seems to have the highest resolution satellite imagery of the area.
The camp may be rented by scouting groups, private individuals or other groups. Current rental fees are $50/day and $25/half day, For information or to rent the camp, contact Ian MacDonald (542-9219 or idmac at eastlink.ca) or Brad Hopgood (542-3331).
An article was published in May 2008 in the Kentville Advertiser about the need to fix up the camp.
